Pet Portraits . . . why they’re so much fun!

I don’t know about you, but our family dog is the soul of our house. The first one to greet us coming home. The most exuberant kisses and the softest of fur. We love him so! A pet portrait is so much more than a picture . . . it’s a love story.

When I paint a dog portrait, I keep our own pup Dodger in mind. I know how he pays attention to each of us and has all of our quirks down. Where our favorite seats are, and who’s most likely to drop a bit of food “by accident.” I’ll want to get to know all about your pets and the specific personality traits that light up your home when they are around.

I also try to capture the cutest parts ––the hanging tongue, the inquisitive eyebrow, the crooked ear––so that your pet portrait puts a smile on your face every time you pass by.

At the end of the day, I paint because it spreads joy. That smile is what I’m going for!
